Healthy Longevity Webinar Series

The Healthy Longevity webinar series aims to drive discussions and provide fresh insights on helping people keep free of diseases by tackling the common root cause of chronic diseases - ageing. Professor Brian Kennedy, Director of the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS and Director of the Centre for Healthy Longevity, NUHS hosts each episode. This webinar series will see leading scientists, thinkers, businessmen, and policymakers share perspectives on ageing research and the implications for our personal health and the world we live in.

Date / Time: First 3 Thursdays of every month (07:00 PM - 08:00 PM)

Venue: Zoom

Gerophysics Conference March 2025

Title: Revolutionizing Aging Science: Global Conference on Gerophysics

Can physics unlock the secrets of longevity?

Uncover new insights, develop predictive models, and transform your understanding of aging and longevity at the Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme’s Global Conference on Gerophysics.

With the advent of advanced computational tools, the mass production of omics data has provided unprecedented insights into how genetics, cellular dynamics, metabolism and systemic physiological changes contribute to the aging process. This has driven discoveries in identifying biomarkers of aging, mapping cellular pathways associated with aging and developing targeted interventions to mitigate these effects. However, rather than simplifying the field, these advancements have unveiled its profound complexity, highlighting the intricate interplay of molecular, cellular and systemic factors that drive the aging process.

This conference brings together leading experts in theoretical physics and aging biology to catalyse the amalgamation of these two distinct disciplines, paving the way for a groundbreaking frontier of “gerophysics”, positioning it as a transformative new discipline which uses mathematical modeling, statistical mechanics and system-level analyses to address some of the most enigmatic questions in longevity. These experts include:

  • Dr Peter Fedichev: CEO and Co-Founder of Gero, and a key contributor in understanding of the aging process, the rate of aging and the limits of lifespan and age reversion.
  • Dr Matt Kaeberlein: CEO at Optispan, Inc., Affiliate Professor of Oral Health Sciences at the University of Washington and Co-Director of the Dog Ageing Project.
  • Dr Uri Alon: Professor in the Department of Molecular Cell Biology at Weizmann Institute of Science, and internationally recognized for his contribution in systems biology and his pioneering network-based approaches to understanding biological processes.
  • Dr Andrew Rutenberg: Professor of Theoretical Physics at Department of Physics & Atmospheric Science, Dalhousie University.
  • Dr Brian Kennedy: Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Physiology at NUS Medicine. He is also the Director of Centre for Healthy Longevity and Centre for Reproductive Longevity and Equality.

Look forward to cross-disciplinary dialogues, workshops, poster sessions and dedicated networking opportunities designed to foster meaningful exchange of ideas and lay the intellectual and collaborative groundwork to revolutionise our approach to health and longevity.

Register now and be a part of this global scientific movement where gerophysics becomes the transformative force in longevity science.

Longevity Science Singapore Conference and Opening of NUHS Centre for Healthy Longevity

The full-day hybrid conference featured international and local experts on longevity research and in this conference, they shared strategies, discoveries and implementation of longevity interventions to improve individuals' healthspan and population health.

The NUHS Centre for Healthy Longevity also officially launched during the inaugural Longevity Science Singapore Conference, with Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, and Chairman, National Research Foundation, as the Guest-of-Honour. NUHS CHL is the world's first integrated pre-clinical and clinical ageing research institute, and is poised to lead the Longevity Medicine field to prolong healthspan by delaying ageing. The Centre also aims to launch the world's first Longevity Medicine clinic at Alexandra Hospital, focused on dietary, exercise and supplemental interventions to mitigate the adverse effects of ageing and extend one's healthspan.
